Testimony & Bio
I grew up in Cartersville, GA in a single parent household with two brothers and one sister. I am the youngest. While I had a mother who loved me and provided for me, I grew up in the projects where drugs and criminal activity were normal. I grew up with the perception that the wrong thing was the right thing. With no dad to lead me, I took to the streets, leading me to a life of incarceration and broken relationships. When I was incarcerated in 2010 for armed robbery, I thought my life had reached its end. However, two years later, the Lord saved me while in prison. Thanks be to God for this indescribable gift (2 Cor. 9:15).
My calling into ministry was revealed to me while I was serving time at Walker State Prison. Walker was Georgia's first fully Faith-and-Character-Based program. I was selected to serve as a peer mentor in the program because I wanted to help others, but it wasn't until I was saved that I understood that God had a calling on my life to share the Gospel. Since my conversion, much has taken place in my life, and it all started with the mentoring program that Metanoia Ministries started at Walker State Prison. Pastor Calvin Keller, who was senior Pastor at Cornerstone OPC in Chattanooga, TN was first my mentor. He was my mentor for five years, and those five years are precious to me. I thank the Lord for Pastor Keller every day. My desire is to recruit more mentors for prisoners because I know firsthand the impact it can have on someone’s life.
It was through this relationship that my journey through seminary education began. I was about four years into my seminary education when it hit me that Gospel ministry was my desire. I started teaching and preaching the Bible from that day forth. My second mentor was Executive Director of Metanoia, Mark Casson. Mark is incredibly special to me, and I thank the Lord that I have him in my life. We would always talk about my desire to serve in the ministry, and when I was released from prison on December 9, 2021, Metanoia issued me a call to serve as the Regional Director for Central Georgia.
On the first Sunday after I got released, I was able to join my church in worship with my mentor Mark Casson. It was Mark who introduced me to this church five years prior and I was able to build a relationship with the leadership and pastor. I am a member at Christ Fellowship PCA Roswell, Georgia. This made all the difference for me! To think, this was the plan of God before the world began, is just awesome!
