Dan Cooke - Testimony and Bio

Dan has been blessed to know the Lord his entire life, growing up surrounded by Godly parents and the truths of His Word and the love of His people. He is a Ruling Elder at All Saints OPC in Suffolk Virginia, where he is blessed to serve His flock.

In 2021, he was introduced to Metanoia and learned from Lowell Ivey about the spiritual darkness and neglect so prevalent in the prison system. His testimony deeply moved Dan, and God stirred within him a strong desire to serve in this vital ministry. Metanoia embodies the call of Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives.” It is his prayer to bring the light of Christ into places often forgotten by the world, trusting in His power to transform lives. In 2025, he prays to see more prisoners encounter the gospel, more volunteers equipped to minister effectively, and hearts both inside and outside of prison walls renewed by grace.

Outside of ministry, he cherishes time with his spouse and 5 children. He enjoys hiking, reading, writing and deepening his understanding of God’s Word. It is a joy and privilege to serve with Metanoia, pointing others to the hope and freedom found in Christ alone.
